Looks great Adam! As a retired teacher, I feel ya… helping kids is its own reward. Glad you’re posting the process. Did you save any offcuts? I would suggest if you did to sand them down the same as the “body” of the board and see what they look like with different paint treatments. Acrylics can be applied with a foam brush can give really outstanding results. A white over the remaining gray might give a ghost look that might work. Just one other note, groms here in Cali seem to like a really eggy rail from nose to somewhere in front of the fins. You said the kid was growing so I would give it a hard edge but flat bottom in the tail as kids love to slide tail! Just my 2c… Looking good!

Just as a heads up it’s not finished by a long shot. The rails are still square. So I should get it pretty clean by the time it’s done.
