Here are some pics my 3 year old took of me and my work area while I was putting some touch ups on a hotcoat this morning…
I think it’s interesting to see what she thought was “photo worthy”.

wowowow!!! You mean to tell me that your 3 yr old did not HELP you to brush on the hotcoat using that there camera?
Jeez....im having trouble explaining to my 3 yr old "why daddys iPod should not be used to gather crumbs of a kitchen floor"..I would not dream of having him around when catalysed resing is flowing free!
I like the one of the heater! I think it shows appreciation for patterns and finer detail.
thats so cute and I definitely second the fear of using my cam as a squeegee… youve got some brass balls
hahaha she’s pretty good.
Ever since she was very little, I could put something in front of her and tell her not to touch it and not even worry about it…
Do you guys have boys? Maybe that’s the difference?
neither lol I have a dog and 3 cats…yeahhhhh fur-kids… not aloud anywhere near anything fiberglass or i have lil furby-momentos forever embedded in epoxy lol…
I cant wait to have kids tho (just turned 26…no rush here…married next year… taking my tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime )
I hope i have kids that listen half as well!.. You should take her out into the forest or the beach and tell her to snap pictures of what she thinks is interesting or whatever catches her eye…then post a thread here…would love to see the world from a kids POV… sometimes we overthink things… they have the ultimate clear perception…
Yeah, I have 2 boys, 3yr old and a 7 month old. The 3 yr old is a demon child…I swear one of these days ill find him crawlin on the ceeling.
He likes to decorrate my templates with finger paints though, I was very impressed with his last effort.
Edit: Added photo
The other one then is completly different…so soooo mellow! My wife would tell me that sometime she’d forget that he’s in the house cos he’s so quiet. Now I worry everytime she goes to Tescos…8)
My dad was a surf photographer between late 70s to early ninties. So I started taking photo
s for a restaurant foods and then became a Chef and I realised how much I enjoyed creating something that puts a smile on peoples faces. But Chefing was so restrictive with time and I always surfed since 3 years old so I started shaping surfboards. Fathers influence is so strong in a childs mind and even when you grow up.
It`s good to see these humble photos.
Thanks for the comments guys =) …
At our wedding, we gave one-time cameras to all the kids.
Some of the pics that we got from the littlest kids were HYSTERICAL!
My neice who was probably about 3 at the time shot a whole roll of people from under the tables.
There were also lot’s of close up butt shots and shots looking waaay up at people dancing.
Just some funny stuff from their perspective, we split a gut when we got them back.
quite a nice fingerpaint!! lol you should tell him he can paint them and put them online to sell as artist-surf templates
That finger paint is great Retro! You should have him do all your templates! =)
I gave my daughter some Sharpie poster pens and let her loose on one of my boards then sprayed clear over it.
I’ll have to take a pic and post it up.
EDIT: Or, maybe have her take a pic of her own work…
Haha, yeah it’s about time he got a job, then I can just kick back and start doing some DIY around the house instead of going to stupid work…
I have a few more of them hanging about and the weekend approaching fast…
Definetly post it up, the random kids drawings look pretty cool, hard to achieve when you’re an adult for some reason.
Its cool to get the little ones involved, I think mako posted up a few boards he did with his kids.
Im gonna wait a bit before setting him loose on a board with a sharpie, I’m useless at repairing deep narrow dents…
She drew on the sanded hotcoat then I clear acrylic sprayed over it.
I’ll post a pic
great stuff !!
shoes ...
yep , as an "adult" .... I always forget to photograph shoes !!
plan b ... if you give her a go pro , perth's summer surf would be 'head high ' and bigger for her !!
great stuff Chris , keep her photography coming [maybe you can set up a blog site for her ??]
cheers mate !
