before we get off on the wrong track and go for guns .....................let me say this...............i welcome you to swaylocks..............lol.
you might ask why i welcome you here or what gives me the right ....................i was one of the founding members here........back in 99'
that gives me some of the muscle, but i also have contrubuted lots of knowledge here.
i think i know who you are now................something gave you away................no worries your anyonimity will be kept by myself, and not shared with anyone.............plus i could be wrong..........what's the chances?
i like you,and from past threads you seem to have some good knowledge about surfboard construction.
i hope you keep contributing here for the sake of the lesser knowledgeable beings that visit here.
in a sense, like jim phillips says gremmie............we're all gremmies in our soul..............or we wouldn't be here.
I have nothing but love for you Herb, and your a greater man than me, still being friends with Jr. Beck. And Jim is a hero and all-time Hall of Famer, but he got the “gremmie” stuff from Velzy. Someday, I hope we can share some waves and laughs.
4-5 years ago, stuffed up a board repair on me, and demanded top dollar for a ruinous job on a completely new board that had a ding with a few surfs, that I was hoping to keep in good repairs
and use for a while and then sell.
I paid, shook my head and wondered whats wrong with that man.
Herb, I don’t know where I’ll surf from day to day, and I consider the coastline from Pt. conception to CSL, my area of expertise. When it comes to surfing I am more of a mountain lion, and not afraid to travel, on a moments notice considering tides, swell directions, swell intervals, and wind speed and direction before I go. Unfortunately, I also have to consider crowds which I am not so fond of. I always seem to be the guy who people are saying: “who the f@#k was that”. I little bragging on my part, but whatever. I try to keep the ego in check, because I realize I am not that cool, believe me I have heard it before. I remember my dad’s response after I asked him if he saw my last wave when I was about 12 or 13, he said; “Do you think I am out here to watch you?”, and I learned something that day.
Ray I have been impressed with your big board and wish i could have helped you when you glassed it. Resinhead’s board is pretty large also. I wonder what your wives say about those big things.
I had a good day, I hope everyone out there did also. The world seems pretty weird right now, and it doesn’t seem like the best of times, but maybe its just me getting old.
Stay stoked, and that’s how you spell it, for etymologically the word descends from to stoke a fire, not stock a shelf. The way things are though everyone should try to stay stocked also…
Howzit Herb, Now that is a great outlook on life and if everybody had one like yours ,it would be a much better world to live in. I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. Life is to short to not enjoy it as much as possible. Aloha,Kokua
Yorky, I hope your doing well, kid… How is life on the other side of the world? Its always gets funny when you show up, didn’t your parents teach you how to be civil?
Hey yorkie! How about you and Huie go over to the Twin Fin thread and tell us about it. My daughter told me recently I should get a little "Yap" dog but I told her I had given it some thought and couldn't keep any thing smaller than a large Rottweiler. It's just no fun at nite if you don't get into a fist fight with your own dog over who gets to sleep in the bed as opposed to the floor.
I’m a hater of hatred and those who think their shit don’t stink …Those that feel they’re way better / better connected with all their name dropping than you or me…
Hi Hui, Yorky and Kiterider…haven’t spoken to any of you three in awhile. Hope all is well with you. BTW Yorky…damned nice twin on the other thread. Been watching the masters a bit, I think of a few of them could use them in those small waves. I have not figured out who Ghetto is, but we know many of the same folk. Wouldn’t surprise me if I had met him.
Howzit kiterider, Do you think that grat and I are arguing about scissors? I hate to say this but we are just saying what we think with no bad thoughts involved. grat is a really good guy and we have had some good PM's and got to know each other some what. I respect a person who says what's on his mind as long as it isn't just BS and there is nothing BS about grat. Aloha,Kokua
