After last week when you warned me of sealing paint with supracrylic, you asked if we did what the results were.
So I took that as an oppurtunity, we had 4 plugs come through this way, since they will never be ridden and are strictly for the purpose of scanning into the machine i thought it was a good time to experiment.
I had my artist spray each of the boards decks a solid color,
blue yellow orange and red
Generally we hybrid our paint between bestemp and NOVA so thats the formula we went with
then they were all shot 2x with supraacrylic on over the paint, let dry for 24 hours.
lammed them as normal,
when lamming I had no adverse affects nor did I notice any differences in usual methods. no crystalazation, no gassing or anything.
after they were sanded and finished, i stood on one just to see it anything would happen, it bonded well.
Im claiming success.
This worked for me, im not proclaiming that everyone should run right out and do it as it may have different effects on different scenarios. With the above variables it worked out fine,
HERB since you are I beleive one of the biggest supracrylic guys, let me know other variables you think i could test it under, as we do about 2-4 plugs a month
