this really sucks!!! Today’s report: SEAWATER TEMPERATURES: Intake seawater temperatures will range between 52 to 55 degrees through Thursday. These are some of the coldest seawater temperatures during the month of August on record at the Diablo Canyon Ocean Lab.

Monterey Bouy’s 61.5 degrees and I think the water off pleasure point is pushing 63 or so. We’re trunkin’ up here. Warmest I ever remember.

Just got back from Maui and Oahu. Water temps in Waikiki / Diamond Head must have been high seventies. Longboarded & just wore trunks and sunscreen…Ouch, my nipples! When I flew back, I was so depressed to see the yellow-brown smog layer over California’s coastal cities.
Watertemp here in southwestern Norway have been pushing towards the 70s. Pretty good. Now if we only had some waves… Anyone got some surf? regards, Håvard
The water tempeture here in Southern NJ has been cold all year, right now it is 68 which is the warmest it has been. In the end of July when it should have been in the low 70’s it was 58, I was out in a full suit, first time ever I wore a full suit in July and I have been surfing since the late 60’s. The last 2 weeks it has been so foggy you can’t even see the waves. Wierd Summer. Frank
The water in Fla has been the coldest I can remember in 20+ years of surfing.It was 58-60deg in Cocoa/Melbourne area last week,weird morning fog…like california…except the waves.Coastal upwelling making it cold,even saw wetsuits in August…never saw that before…peace and waves…

Water temps off the Cornish & North Devon coast in the UK now 19 degrees (that’s nudging 70 of your strange farenheight things). Hottest summer here for thirty years. Waist high wave at the weekend - I was in shorts and high factor screen…and found myself in the line-up next to a man in a full suit - AND BOOTEES!. One of us had surely got it wrong! Coming to Cal in mid Sept - anyone give me a steer on what neoprene should I pack for Ventura / Santa Barbara area?

SG, Just bring your 3/2, You can always pick up a sring suit for 50 or 60 bucks if the water’s still hoovering around 60. It may go to 55 or 56 by then but not much lower I wouldn’t think. Have a good surf, Rich
