Hey! NEW PLANER BLADES FOR YOUR SKIL 190, 100, 676 are being made by American National Knife...

Josh Hall ordered a set of Carbide Tipped Planner Blades through Tool Depot in San Diego for his Skil 100. They are sweet. He put them in over a year and a half ago, and they are still sharp as can be. Tool Depot said they would have to special oder a pair, so I just called Skil, and they hooked me up with American National Knife, who makes the planer blades that Tool Depot can special order for you. I called A.N.K., and they were very helpful, informative, and eager to help me irder the right blades for my machine. They make brand new blades for all machines, including the Skil 100, 190, and 676. You can order traditional steel blades, or carbide tipped (which will last 10 times longer), or solid carbide blades. They range from $16 per pair to what I paid to have them shipped priority to my door, $62.

Skil still carries drive belts, but they get their knives from A.N.K.

Nice find on the blades. Tool Depot in Encinitas is great place. New Skil blades have been on e-Bay for about $70+ per set, so these ANK’s are a much better deal. The masters like the HSS type, 10 boards max and then they sharpen them. You can get the HSS type to real scary sharp. Terry Martin checks his under 40x magnification. It’s very hard to find anyone who will sharpen the carbides, but they will last to about 50 boards. The best original Skil HSS blades are the ones stamped “made in Germany” if you find them.
