That couch design is a timeless master piece of perfection. Fun yet functional, and the color should do well in most situations. The yellow foot stool is another story though.

Jetty is a customer. I had nothing to do with the board.
Sorry for ruining the surf for everyone in Southern California. I picked up this board last night and the wind instantly shifted to onshore…and continued all day long today.
I’d be interested in hearing some theories about this board. It’s 5’8 and really different from anything I’ve ever ridden. When I picked it up, there was a crowd of people around the board…some of whom wanted to buy the stick right out from under me.
Thanks for the shots by the way. Same question here Jetty as on Surfermag. Is the this the replica of the board Cheyne was holding in the picture? It doesn’t really look much like it. Gary obviously did a good job, but it looks more like another board Cheyne road in Scream in Blue than that board in the shot. The 5’8’’ rude boy we did was a sort of copy of that 5’8’’ board in the Cheyne photo. I thought it had more of a tear drop shape than the board pictured. Be sure and give is feedback on how it rides. I know the feeling on folks trying to buy them out from under you…they tend to have that effect.
…I doubt that board was handshaped by Linden;
anyway,
looking to the outline, I see a more parallel aproach between the WP and the sweet spot
and this imply more projection from the bottom turn and speed generator
but seems that with the tail thickness and rocker and hard rails (all stuff for small wave action) may be is difficult to crank it up without slippery in more than OH (or not?)
Solo, when I originally contacted Gary, I approached him with the request for a duplicate of the OP Pro board that’s in that photo. When I went into order the board though…I started being non-committal (“Now, I don’t have Cheyne’s tree trunk legs so not too thick…” etc.) after seeing some of the boards on the wall that Cheyne had ridden. So, I stopped talking and trusted Gary’s vision.
To me, that OP version was a bit more of a teardrop and also had a modified squash tail. I can’t recall which board you’re referring to in Scream in Blue…do you remember which part of the movie that board was ridden in?
By the way, this one’s 5’8 x 19.5 x 2 5/8 (to me though, even the tip of the tail feels like 2 5/8). The nose is just under 14" and the tail is 16". The top of the board is flat as a pancake and there is just some subtle nose rocker on the underside.
PS
Can’t wait to ride it…
...I doubt that board was handshaped by Linden
I can assure you it was…
And not knowing Gary before meeting him on this project, here was my firsthand experience as mentioned on SurferMag a month or so ago:
"First off, I've never met Gary or Pierre, I didn't get (nor did I expect) a deal, and the shape I was ordering was anything but "off the rack." That being said, here was my experience...The last few boards I ordered I never got anywhere near the shaper, all the orders were simply processed through a middle man in the office. Stepping into Gary’s factory though was like taking a trip back to my younger days.
No doubt, I had an odd request…a board like Cheyne’s pictured above. Nevertheless, Gary took the time to share his thoughts on the original design, his experiences both shaping and riding it, and what he thought would work for me. He doesn’t know me from any other kook off the street yet I was treated with dignity and professionalism and left the factory thinking that I’d be riding Linden’s boards from now on.
From the enthusiasm about design that all of you are always sharing on here, this is probably preaching to the choir but there is still nothing like walking into a surfboard factory, talking things over and rummaging through templates with a shaper, and leaving with a bit of foam dust on your clothes. That stoke never gets old and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy reading the Design Forum as well ordering a board the old fashioned way like I did at Linden’s shop this morning."

jettylocal, Nice board and very well put. Thanks for sharing the stoke which we as Manufactures don’t hear alot from people like yourself. I am glade the art of making a surfboard and it’s components still brings that excitement to people, like I hear in your words. Enjoy that beauty. (-: Mahalo,Larry

It’s that part of the movie where he makes his first comeback and makes it to the finals of a contest after being knocked out in the first round in a few. The board is white…looks slightly more narrow than yours. Good luck with your new purchase. I think you would have had a blast on your original choice though. If you try your Spitfire…give me a report.

Thanks Solo. I’ll check out that movie tonight.
Saw the board in Scream in Blue. You’re right, it does look similar. And yes, I’ll give you a report with the Spitfire fin too.
