Is the clark foam modified planer much different from the regular one? (I am trying to justify another 60 bucks) and also is the one with sealed bearings much better than the non sealed. thanks nick

(I > am trying to justify another 60 bucks) and also is the one with sealed > bearings much better than the non sealed. thanks>>> nick…Yes,the Clark model has got a slide ajustment like the haircut-100(skill).WHERE AS THE STANDARD HITACHI IS A KNOB SCREW that’s not to easy to use,it works ,but pay the 60. Get the one with sealed bearings especially if you plan on using it alot.I think Bruce said he had a Clark with sheilded bearings(non-sealed) forsale? if he still has it?You can always replace the bearings yourself.Herb.

(I > am trying to justify another 60 bucks) and also is the one with sealed > bearings much better than the non sealed. thanks>>> nick nick i do have a modified(clark) hitachi i’d sell. it’s the standard(non sealed bearings) one. i was told if you’re doing less than a hundred boards or so a year it’s not that big of a deal. i’ll sell it for a 100$ even. it’s been used literally a couple times. let me know i’m in so cal/l.a. area.

I am just getting into shaping so I doubt i will be doing a 100 boards a year. You said it’s been used only a couple of times? is it in good shape with nothing wrong with it etc…? thanks Nick
