hitachi planer question

i bought the new hitachi a few months ago and it has been great for the last 8-10 boards, but i was cutting the bottom of the board and noticed the front shoe was opening and closing usualy i pick a depth of cut and it stays.

i took it apart and checked the parts, but its still doing it!

any suggestions?

they do tend to loosen up over time. If you don’t like it looser wrap a rubber band 2 or 3 times around the depth handle at the bottom.
