Decided that I wanted to try my hand at making a homemade profiler. Realistically, I am looking for anyone who has built one to provide some dimension feedback and possible plans. Most of the other posts on this topic either have no pictures due to the format change, or reference this link:http://groups.msn.com/MyKRSurf/profileplans.msnw (which is dead). Would love to get started, but know I will be dealing with a number of sticky issues…just need something to start working off of…
i have a profiler that i dont use and would sell for cheap if you (or anyone else) would be interested. i do not have the wood templates or the router, just the table itself and the sliding racks for the router. i am in the northeast, not sure of your location but probably not an item we would want to ship, but who knows. drop me a ‘pm’ if your interested.
Look in the resources under photos/tools. There is info there on the machine from the old link you listed. I have talked with Ken by e-mail several times about his design. Never thought to ask him if he had copies of the original article. I have a C-Shaper that was made in Australia in the late 90's. It is similar to the Shaper's model that is currently available. I could send you some pics of the C-Shaper if you are interested.

Scot–I love the look of the aus. c-shaper, but the pics don’t provide as much detail as I would have hoped (but found a great number of close ups on fish and log blog, nt., below). However, still the shapers aus. are very helpful especially with the focus on the bridge and router set-up. I think that from my few boards, I may just have to stay 2-d for a while and then modify as I go along. But thanks!
Dave–thanks for the recommendation. That was what I was looking for…I emailed ken and hope that he would be gracious enough to provide the plans, but who knows…maybe they’re gone. However, would love to see some close up pics of your c-shaper. Realistically, I haven’t seen a true profile shot with some form of guage to get a sense of the height of the thing…as well if possible some close ups would be great. Really appreciate any pics you could provide…thanks!

I didn’t receive any follow up from KR…consequently, I am just going to upload the files. If he does ask me to take them down promptly. The design is pretty cool and I have received pms from a number of others about different perspectives regarding the use of the profiler and tips. I appreciate everyone’s generosity and help…thanks!
