This was a Bondi home town reunion contest. Cheyne and the guy in the picture are old friends. Like most who entered the contest. Those old wide tailed boards worked great in Florida mush. That Zot was Thiiiiiiiccccckkkkkk in the tail.
Pretty funny ‘outfit.’ I like the looks of the people looking at them in photo 2. The chaps prevent chaffing between the legs… You have pretty water in Florida. Mike

Oh my Gosh!!!.. my sees it, but my brain can’t believes it…this photo is amazing…that "old friend of Cheynes is my long lost twin brother, Mornay (better known when we were kids as The Moron who worshipped Horan). we have been putting feelers out for him and have left no rock unturned and seached every crevice…as Lobsters do.
My Mom is over the moon seeing this photo as she thought he was long gone…she was told he was mysteriously lazer zapped in a bizarre surfing accident back in the 80’s, and could not be revived…even with the kiss of life from Cheyne. Even losing one of her 175 siblings, still hurts.
I am stoked too, cause that outfit he is wearing is mine (it disappeared along with himway back and I have felt naked ever since), and now I can get onto my lawyers and put the wheels in motion to get it back…oh man , this is so exciting!!
Gotta rush, television crew just arrived for interviews and the whole Lobster clan (10476 of us) are about to celebrate.

I had never seen that board before - wow, that is pretty close to the ugliest board I've ever seen - that tail - ugh! But I say props to the shaper whose imagination says it should work, and so he builds it to find out. I guess it works for Cheyne! I've never ridden a McCoy.

take it easy on the comment about that tail shape…Mom claims Mornay stole several of her bras and swears that tail has been traced directly from her buxom tripple D XOS (sans the robust nipples). She also recognised the jewelry as a coulpe of her pearl necklaces…and let me tell you, she would have had to clean off a few of them in her time, knowing me dirty ol dad 9not to mention the milkman and postman…but that’s another story)
Mom says she is going to get in touch with that Mccoy dude and see if he is still using her bra for a template…I said to give it a miss cause even if she got it back, the foam dust would make her tits too itchy…not a good look walkin around feelin and scratchin ya tits, specially at 85.

You boys are way off the mark in guessing who that is with Cheyne.
It is in fact none other than Bondi underground ripper “Spot” Anderson.
His nickname “Spot” came from his heavily orange freckled colour skin and his carrot top hair.
His sister’s nickname was…“Spotess” and she ripped as well.

Both Spot and his sister are fantastic people and I can personally atest to the fact they also knew how to party .
That outfit Spot is wearing is tame compared to some of the get-ups he wore back in the day in surfing contests back when I was living there.
He was one of the ITN (“In the nude”) crew from Bondi.
Wild place back then the South end of Bondi.
Our nickname for the place was “Scum valley”.

Hate to throw an alternatve as to that “zot spray”…but maybe a bit of photo sopping has been employed here…
Ya see, once a day (twice after a Xmas and Thanksgiving super serves)I usually find myself in a body position not unlike 'ol Cheyno here and the result is often a splashdown of very similar magnatude…and if he is ‘doing it’ at the famous Bondi…then there is a fair chance it’s not zot but a hot plop that missed the pot!
Could be wrong…but even the hands are in the "I’m reading a mag while taking a dump’ position…lokk it’s a nice bucket slash whichever way, so who cares?

Ha…nice Rocky. The thing about the Zot is the board being ridden in this picture was the only one the way I heard it. It wasn’t a series of boards and it wasn’t a model. After this board is when Cheyne went on his own for awhile and in my opinion was some of his best years of experimentation for just surfing. Even if not the best for the tour of clones itself.
Best thing about Cheyne isn’t his board models, but that he is just a nice guy with a positive outlook.
