Hot Coat vs Resin Coat and Sanding

I understand these are to differnt types of resin, but what exactly is the difference? The hot coat is more sandable? Is it harder?

Do most of you sand w/100 then 220 then 320?

Basic resin, lam…cures a little sticky, is thick.

Hot or sanding has wax to rise and hardcure the surface, so you can sand without gumming up the sandpaper.

Gloss/finishing resin has the wax, but also styrene to thin out the resin so it flows smoother.

To sand hotcoat, by hand, start with 50, two sheets, then 80, two sheets, then one sheet of 120, that’s all, no more.

Do you do all hand sanding or is that with machine too w/ those grits.

With power, start off with 80, then work to 120.

I sanded #1 thru 120 by hand, no power, except my own muscles. Average time each, about 40 minutes.
