I remeber Greg saying (at Cerriotos college) that he was going to post the plans for the blank splitter he used. Has anyone ever seen one. IF it is in the archives I couldnt find it.
Been a while since I’ve seen it, but basically a 1X2 wood frame holding the blank and another frame that holds a hot wire, hinged to fold down on the blank. A big jig.
But it is overkill for a few boards. You can just use a long wire held by two people and carefully hold it in tension while drawing it down on the blank. And hold it carefully or you will be surprised at the language you come up with.
some clever folks here just do a rough cut down the middle with a hand saw and then turn the saw cut edges to the outside and put the factory hot wire edges to the middle.
