hey guys , for some reason , whenever i hotcoat i get tiny little pin holes in it, it almost looks pimpley or something. can someone please tell me what causes it and how to prevent and or fix it. thanks a lot.
If you hotcoat batch cures to a gel in app. 20 minutes, then the problem is most likely in a dry lamination coat.
Use more lam resin when you wet out your cloth, and don’t squeegee so much out…
ok , thanks a lot , now that i have the pinholes there , what should i do , i dont care abotu apperance because the board is for myself , i just wnat it to be water tight. after sand clear acrylic maybe?
…or, you can squeegee a gloss resin coat into the pinbubbles (not during a rising temperature part of the day), forcing the resin into the cavities, sealing the lam and hot job…
mix a rather cold batch, so you have at least 1/2 hour work time, squeegee over a couple of times, then take beer break…but come back within 20 minutes to squeegee another coat into the pinholes…
