i think i usually make my hotcoats a little too thick…cause i get little cracks in only the hotcoat after surfing the boards …my guess is the hotcoat is too thick so instead of being able to bend and flex it cracks…im just wondering if there is any way i can tell when its just right while im doing my hotcoat? you know of course i dont want it to thin either but how can i tell?
it appears no one has an answer?
You may have to do what I’ve had to do. Experiment. Sorry for the lack of technicality.
Tom. Ride on!
You could be using to much MEKP. Using to much actually makes the resin cure in a more brittle fashion. Thus reducing thew flexibility of the hot coat.

maybe too much mekp…but it just seems like maybe i leave too thick a layer on the board…,.i dunno maybe ill just try again.
