How do these surfboards suit different people?

what do these surfboards have to offer that makes them better suited to different people.. if that makes sense cheers

Shortboard

Fish

Longboard

Gun

Not different people, but different types of waves.

shortboard- to really get what people want out of them you need to be fit enough to paddle them into a wave and then be able to do turns and fit in the tighter areas.

fish- a compromise of the turning ability of the shortboard and float for either smaller/gutless waves or fatter people.

longboard- tons of paddle for what ever waves you want, less control, tons of glide, great in long waves unless you want to do turns on that canvas.

Guns- give the adrenaline junkies their fix and old guys who want to ride small sunset and ocean beach but can’t since they are too out of shape to paddle something like a 7’6" for head high to OH surf.

sorry if that seems crass, but as a youngin’ that is how i see those boards suited to different people and scenarios. I am dreading the day I have to ride a longboard just to catch a wave when it is chest high and walled up.

great response, cheers

really helpful
