Every little bump is driving me nuts, so I want to sand it again and add a third layer of sanding resin.
Will that work? Will it stick or break up?
Thanks

Shouldn’t be a problem…The rougher the better, just don’t get too far into the weave. And clean, but you knew that already…How about glossing it instead? slightly different procedure, shinier result. What bumps are you talking about?
Mr Fairmont,
If your shape is flat and smooth, then you can sand the glass smooth. If you got a bumpy glass job, just sand it smooth, because you know the shape is smooth. Now if you sand into the foam or…wood I believe, then just put a patch on it and sand the hell out of it. If you feel you need to re hot coat, go ahead, it don’t hurt the running of it none. But remember resin is just the glue for the fiberglass, it doesn’t add anything except weight. Sand with soft blocks of balsa or foam to ensure supreme flatness!
If it continues to drive you crazy you can stop by and we will teach the hand gun a lesson in flatness.
My advise would be to sand the sucker flat and smooth, and spray it with UPOL or gloss to seal. Glassing is Fun!

The bumps are not really bumps, but more like pimples. I used a cheap brush and a couple hairs are stuck in the glass job, so I am going to sand it rough, add a little glass, sand and rub to a sheen, and then call it quits.
This project is driving me (my wife) nuts.
