I’m just starting to experiment with concaves under the nose of my longboards and was wondering how far have concaves gone ? I’ve seen them as shallow as 1/8" and as deep as 3/8". How does the depth affect performance as far as “float”. At some point or another that depth is going to stall your trim speed. Also, how close to the edge should I shape the concave and how far back should I go before I start to blend in with the entry rocker ?
I’ve seen 'em deeper than 3/8 inch and shaped in all sorts of aggressive ways. All I’ve been riding the last year is a Yater spoon with NO concave.
