How much resin????

Alright, I finally reshaped a broken board 6'7" shortboard to a fun 5'7" grovler deck. Now it's time for me to glass up my deck. Everyone is telling me that a gallon of laminating resin is enough to glass my whole board, but how much resin does it take to glass the botom (1 layer of 4 ounce glass) and the top (2 layers of 4 ounce glass) separately? This is my first time glassing or shaping a bard, so some advice would be appreciated.

you will probly waste a lot so 16 oz will do it

If you use UV cat you can start with less and always add to it

Assuming you using poly… a quart is plenty for the bottom, and about a quart and a half to two quarts for the deck. A lot less if you’re using UV cure, because you have more time.

Generally, there’s a lot of waste using traditional poly. Once it’s catalyzed, you have to get it out of the bucket, spread it out let it flow off the rails, and start pulling and tucking quickly. It’s relatively cheap, though, compared to epoxy, which you can go a long way with a little… like 15-17 fl oz per side.

this works for me

16oz per side (laminate)

7oz per side (hot coat)

 Good luck

sweet. thanks for the info guys. i'll post pictures of it after I'm done. It's pretty ugly though
