Just wondering do I need direct sunlight; no cloud filtration, to properly kick UV resin?
I want to lam my board this weekend as we have rain most of next week. We have a fairly fat high over us at the mo’ but there seems to be a lot of trapped cloud creating concrete coloured skies, that looks like it’s not going to burn off being mid winter here.
Was wondering as to whether a small amount of MEKP, say 0.5% more or less , would give the catalysing a bit of help yet still ample time. Bit of a noob.
Thanks
It will still kick with cloud cover just slower. A little mekp won’t hurt anything either
You don’t need too much sun light if not using pigment/tint.
With pigment u’ll need to add few drops of MEKP.
Any sunlight will begin to kick it. I had one go bad because canvas shade I was using let the faintest light pass through. If you can see your hand in front of your face, it will begin to kick. Just a little word of caution.
Thanks guys. Glassed the bottom before the doom clouds set in this arvo. In my case direct sunlight is definetly the go. T’was a bluebird day here this morning but when I came out from the shed the grey clouds had rolled in. Spent hours sitting outside with her nursing her from flying bugs. Thought I would have been sweet with the amount of ozone overhead here, but no.
