How short can be a board?

Hi, I was wondering how short a board can be. which is (does it exist) the limit? glad to hear your experience!

ciao

David

in the right waves i belive its possible to ride a 4’2" board standing up.Dave Rastovich commonly rides a 4’11" concave deck shorty with great sucsess. the sky’s the limit. remember how people reacted when he took 3’ off a board?

i’ve got a 4’8 on order, though it’s a kneelo, not for standup. if i was as skinny as rasta i might consider using it for standup, but it’s just not that practical for me.

I saw a guy standing up with the flippers on buggy boards at Pleasure Point a couple of years ago during an inconsequential surf contest. He wasn’t competing at the time you shreading for everyone’s entertainment.

No Worries, Rich

Just under 5’ without fins, but the question is why, what would be the gain?

OK, you could ride the bus with it.

i have succesfull stood up and turned a 38 inche bodyboard, i am 59 and 125 lbs

A board needs to be big enough for the surfer to put their two feet…thats about it

I stood up on a 3’11 skimmer…

i paddled and caught a wave on my friends victoria skimboard, i t was longer than the sponge but it sank pretty fast, one i got to the bottom , of a three foot wave, i started to skink
