Hey Charlie, I know those fins. How long is that board?

nice clean room you got !

Charlie!  Yes, it would be great to meet you, as Harry said.  When I travel It's always fun to meet Swaylockers!

The CurvedCarbonCutaway Fins I make in three sizes: 5 1/2", 4 1/2" and 3 1/2".  I have been using the 5 1/2 forward and the 4 1/2 rear on quads, both on my long boards (9'2" and 10')  and on my SUPs (10'6" and 9'10").  I LOVE them.  They hold even when I go to the nose, easy to turn and fast.

If your using them on a wind surfer maybe a full carbon set would hold up better rather than a carbon/balsa set that you have now.  Let me know.

PM me.

Les

Hi Harry,

It is an 8 ft board. The fins are from Bernie. Looking forward to see how they work. Looked up the brand on line and could not find any info. “Doc Waddel” brand. I want to get a 4" quad set for some tow board testing. Surf has not been too good lately but the windsurfing on Oahu has not been this good since 1991.

Have a great week

Charlie

Charlie, the fins were from another swaylocks builder Tridrles, Les Waddel. He’s been making the balsa compsands about as long as I have. He lines in Monterey, CA, and he’s coming over at the end of this month. Send him a PM and he might be able to make you a set. He usually stays in Waikiki, but I could bring him out to see you on a weekend. I’ll be lending him a board and I try to surf with him when he comes over.

I’ll bet he’d get a kick out if meeting you and seeing what you’re doing. I’d love to see what you’re doing these days as well.

Charlie, here’s a post Les did showing how he made those fins. It’s a great thread and shows some cool stuff guys are doing with Vac bagging.

Thanks Harry and Les. Hopefully we can meet up and I can get some tips on my CF foil wing I want to make.

Les' fins are very nice handling them in person. Can't wait to try them this week.
