Hello all,
What rides nice for a hp quad lb as far as foil goes?
Does volume make a big difference anyhow, there is so much of it and planeing already that i doubt it.
Sure, you want some thickness to float and not break the board, but otherwise?
On the website of ... firewire you can see 2 longboards, one with a shortboard foil, one with a different foil, more thickness carrying backwardss
Some folks, keola rapoza, steve boehne, add a concave through the tail, not vee with, no singles.
Apparantly helps when you turn hard? I never tried, so does anybody own such a board with that Concaved tail?
Main bottom contour designs are concave to vee with double, 2+1, or quads., or flat to vee, w or w/o concaves
Apart from Greg Griffin, who i think only uses flat {convex?] surfaces for lift.
Only parmenter describes a board that resembles Griffins board [i guess], but it is not online, it states st like rails with an edge all along...
Also, i have done a little searching of hp longboard, but little pics of hp quad lb's on the web.
Apparently everybody makes em, but no pics, no vids, little description of the contours.
What i found [also the 3* & 2+1 included] is:

I have made 1, but it broke, had flat bottom till fins, where it had panel vee, 1/8, low rails, with apex @ 0.875 inch, and i believe the distance inwards was 0.75 inch, 2.6 thick 4.8 inches in nose and 2.8 in tail, went great with Mc Kee set-up and the Stilettos fins.
Made a 2nd one, broke it
