How you haul your boards?

Hi Chris,

It’s a Michael Cundith 7t model.

Michael’s an expat Cali shaper who’s lived at Byron (and surrounds) for decades and is an old mate of Greenoughs from back in Cali mat riding days.

The 7t is a 70’s single fin template of his with modernised rails and a single to double concave bottom.

He recommends riding it as a thruster but I tried it with the FCS bonzer sides and 6.5" centre fin and it turned the board into magic status.

I recently sold off most of my quiver and this board is the only one I kept.

Now I have the 4’2" gut sliding turtle (Mark Pridmore - More surfboards), a 6’4" Dynocore Broad bean (Feral Dave - Diverse surfboards) and the 7’ X 21" X 3" 7t as my quiver.

2 out of 3 boards made by fellow Swaylockians.

Ha!

That was just after I moved…  I haven’t packed that many boards for a surf since I use to take 3-4 buddies in highschool.

These days I throw the 7-8’rs inside with the back seat down, or the gun on the roof.

Since the move I can walk to one of the favorite locals in less than 10 minutes - suit on, board under arm, over the headlad I go…  But my favorite is a little further away by car…

SWEET! That says a lot about those shapers. =)

And, to stay on topic, we just picked up an '87 Vanagon. That will be the surf ride for a while.

volvo 740s are one of the greatest surf cars ever, Its a seven seater and all the seats fold down so you can chuck heaps of boards in the back quit nicely, then some more on the roof !! they loook sweeet also
