Hull Fin

Hey dudes I just got a 7’3 hull shaped for me and I am going to have my friend glass it for me but I heard that flex fins work the best. I just wanted some thoughts on what size and type to get if anyone has any suggestions hook me up amigos and I will throw up some pictures of the final product.

Thanks

Fiberglas Fin Company is making some really nice flex fins.

i heard that hulls go slow.

but probably this one

9" l-flex fin. check his web site for more info on hulls and fins: liddlesurfboards.com

Use a 10" fin box and put it about 9" from the tail. Then you can adjust the fin from about 11" to 14" no problem. Start with the fin farther back in the box then slowly move it forward in 1/2" increments until you think it works best for you.

Oh yeah, get a Greg Liddle flex fin from Probox Larry (Fiberglass Fin Company). They sell em at Foam E-Z in Westminster if you’re in that area.

Flex fins are the only fins that work for displacement hulls. If you don’t have a flex fin, the board wont behave the way its intended too. Get a 9.75 flex fin, either the one by true ames or a joel tudor flex fin, i have a 6’3 fineline MP, and i use a 9.75, it works insane. hope this helped,

tim

Hey Glazierboy- If you end up going to FoamEZ to pick up a fin, they might be able to refer you to someone in that neighborhood that can route that long box hole.

…or maybe someone who reads this and lives in OC can help with the route???
