Humble Beginnings *PIC*

Some of the best work comes from small places. Just thought I’d throw in a shot of my little work area. Crude but effective. 6’6" for a friend standing up. 6’6" cloth inlay for one of the girls. Foam in window so I can use the UV cat without problems. Redthorn this is one of the inlays I was working on last month that you wanted to see. Other is a 7’6" for Mamakrokus to ride when the water warms up. Krokus http://www.momentoffame.com/snapshots/MomentOfFame/l72678.jpg

CRUDE? holy smokes- your place looks like an operating room compared to mine- ill post some pics soon so you can all get a good laugh

Not crude, clean. Good to see.

A clean shaping room…what the…I’m all disoriented and dizzy. Is this possible? Way to go…(help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!) Doug

ive got that exact shade on my walls to …bliss to work in ,so relaxing and cool,

Krokus nice room .

Nice, so clean and neat… mine is the anti-shaping room compared to your’s…you inspire me to remodel an get things reorganized…(makes note to self) thanks for sharing Krokus

Neatness is an indicator of serious mental illness.

Krokus… That is looking sweet. Awesome, and like everyone says, you got a wicked clean workspace. The mini mal is a sweety too. http://www.freebord.com/floater/3863.htm

Sorry about the freebord link. Still on there from last post…

Thanks guys! I have to admit I had just done a little spring cleaning due to the fact I was getting ready to spray some clearcoat on those boards. Only having one room (13’ x 14’) means I have to clean up all the dust before I glass. A real pain in the azz. I usually shape four at a time then glass. New blanks coming tomorrow so the dust will be flyin’ again next week. Had Pink Floyd playin’ on the CD player that day…“Welcome to the Machine” Krokus http://www.momentoffame.com/snapshots/MomentOfFame/l72678.jpg

ditto, nice room. I have seen a friend cut out the ceiling in the corners and reframe to except the longboard blanks

Krokus, Do you shape them one board at a time, or all at once? I’m not trying to pry, just a question of interest. Again, good shaping bay, workshop, playroom, whatever you want to call it. Greg.

Howzit Krokus, Love the blue color, What do they call it. Aloha, Kokua

Home Depot color: Bear…“Isle of Capri” I think it was called. It is very soothing and a good contrast also. I usually only shape one a day so that I totally focus on that one. Then I celebrate with a few cold ones and then come back and look at it with fresh perspective. You will often find a few minor flaws to correct…but sometimes not. I am not one to fuss unecessarily. Sand to 220 and go! Note: The Halogen bulbs in my overhead don’t seem to affect the UV catalized resin. Krokus

Hey Where’s the baseboard on the back wall? You look like you need about 50 templates next to yours, and the must have pics of trucker girls to be really professional.

wow… really nice… The boards are also sweet. The place where I shape looks like a dungeon somebody told me [smile]) cheers Marcus PS: what means you spray on the topcoat? is the topcoat sprayed on? do you have hot coat under the top coat? what do you use for the top coat?
