I want to make another HWS but this time doing it the right way and making it light enough to actually use. I would like to use would as thin as possible ,but the problem is i cant find anything thinner than 1/4 inch. I live in the seaside area of new jersey and i would like to get my hands on some 1/8th inch and thinner 4x8 sheets for a reasonable price. Any suggestions?
Lumber supply companies sell 1/8" veneer for doors, try that stuff. Depending on what you get, and the price range from $8 for a 4x8 to well over $50, might also be able to be wrapped around most rails with just small underside cuts.
Some resourceful folks strip old doors for their 1/8" veneer, the interior doors that is…
Have you tried Woodhaven or Jaeger Lumber in Point or Belmar? Jaeger can get you “WiggleWood”

Also If you have any place or that specializes in Experimental Aviation- wood building. Also could try the local GA airport or EAA chapter… they might know to point you the right direction.
1/8th is very thin for deck and bottom planking on a hollow board, I built a 10’4" using 1/8th redwood, it was a great board, and light too, but it only lasted a year before cracking up. Maybe you will be ok with 1/8th timber if you use very closely spaced frames, but IMO if you want a very light board use foam with veneer !
