i just have to say something

yeah i agree - it sounds like a double standard - but i feel that is based on the overall momentum of certain beliefs that keeps that train going - but slowed down and examined a little more we can make a choice - not to condem - or ridicule - or prevent from making money(like some have seem to think was the message behind my post) but to look at what it’s affects actually mean.

example

i could go out at lower trestles and ride a longboard and take evry wave if i wanted and rationalize it with " its not my fault you are all riding shortboards". but you know what - it doesn’t happen because the surfers that surf there will not let it happen - because they will give you crap for it - because it disrupts the natural flow/hierachy of the take off area. because it is an unfair advantage over the rest of the crowd. so you dont see them out there(longboards) and most of the time people know that you do not go out there on a longboard. if they give you crap it is not because you are a longboarder, or YOUR RACE. it is because they are saying " sorry - not here - you can go whereever you want - but not here - this isn’t the place for you to be doing that (longboarding)."they are not condeming you for longboarding or how you go about longboarding per say - they are not being ignorrant or biased or unfair. they know what is fair in relation to that spot and they are making a choice. if no one did that or made that choice you had better bet that people would be longboarding that spot if they could.

let them go post their ads somewhere else - this might not be the place - was all i was saying

go to some of the more commercail sites and pay you money and make your money

because you know what - it does affect me and others -

why contribute to it - it will do fine on its own -

longboarding is not going to go away because you cant do it at Lower Trestles - but just because longboards are out there doesnt mean you can ride them at LOWER trestles

Does China have no surf? Does anyone surf in China at all?

Well Yes, I’ve seen pictures of good waves being surfed by my friend who is in business there making surfboards. I saw locals (not factory workers) riding nice point breaks w/ relatively empty line ups. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it.

I’d bet to say that this coming summer season, especially on the east coast, away from the main domestic production, will see the greatest influx of Chinese boards. The Americans and Australians are actively over there producing high quality boards as we speak.
