…Fitzgerald son do not even know how to hold a planer less to shape a good board; check the video on internet. The machine shapes those boards.
Production shops only want to cut corners; then in the other side the luxury longboards with all the stuff; that only sells well in South California and in Japan; but not the Japanese longboards; they are the same that you see in California.

There was a time when you had boards that you would ride, that were works of art. Now it seems the boards that are works of art are not ridden just hang on walls. Of course there are always exceptions
