I need a bag that fits 2 boards with fins. The longest I’d carry is a 7’2" minigun. I want a bag that is sturdy enough for travel, but slim enough to use all the time. I don’t want one that is big and bulky. Any recommendations? I like the looks of the Destination Products “expedition taco”. Any experience with that bag or with “Balin” bags? Thanks.
I would stay away from jiffy pop (silver lined) bags, the reflective material always seems to peel off. Check out block surf. I got a 7’6" coffin bag from them and it works great. They make all kinds and are priced reasonable.
I like the looks of the Destination Products “expedition taco”. I have a taco bag and really like it. The padding is very good, although I still add pipe insulation to the rails. I haven’t used it with fix fin boards though. It’s been on three trips to Costa Rica and a couple of long drives. It sheds water suprisingly well.
What size did you get, and what size boards does it fit? Thanks
What size did you get, and what size boards does it fit? Thanks I have a 9’6" bag and have had a 9’4" and a 7’4" in it at the same time. I forgot that the longboard has glassed on side fins so I guess my previous post was a little off. If I were you I might consider the 8’ bag. I think they generally suggest adding 6" on top of your board length. One quick note - Da Kine makes a coffin bag with wheels. I almost had a heart attack the day I had to run the length of LAX to catch a plane.
Pedro: I have a DaKine coffin. No wheels but it has the 8" side wall with straps along the perimeter to reduce the size as needed. Has been a quality bag on 6+ airline trips. Mine is a 9’0", buy 6"+ oversize. I took an 8’6", 6’6", 2 boogie boards plus snorkling gear and fishing rods down the sides with towels as padding on one trip to Cabo. Airlines charged for a single board on that one. Works well for day trips with up to 3 boards with removable fins. TS>>> What size did you get, and what size boards does it fit? Thanks
