improv not just for comedy, i saw our local fedex driver checking out the surf today and wondered if you could make and improvised board out of coardboard, then seal it with packing tape.
practical, no. but was thinking build it up with all stringers of cardboard then do several layers of packing tape to seal it, and maybe use a glue stick to build up the "blank".
totally random, but i thought it was a fun idea, and would be really could to make it work. best thing about it is it is completely recycleable.
wow, ill be damned, they have been done. and quite well. crap now i want to build one. i didnt think to search because it sounded so crazy i figured nobody had done it.
a guy around here used to make surfboard cores out of corn chips, actually it was cheezels, if you get those in the US. They are similar to cheese balls.
I dont think they worked very well but at least he was thinking outside the square.
