In My Absence..........................

I would hope you all keep Swaylocks strong and alive.

I would hope/wish for everyone to get along and benefit from the knowledge here ,that BC(before cyberspace),was next to impossible to obtain w/o major involvement in the industry.

There are some great ,wonderful people here and really…should get more media attention from the general surfing public/industry/magazines,for there major contrubution to this sometimes thankless world.

I am taking an absence due to my dog Koa’s health is failing(MY BIG BOY,16mo.old St.Pyre-Berner).

I just got back from the vet after dropping Koa off this morning and things look grim. He’d been vomiting for about 24 hrs and stopped eating, and just about everything else too.No obstructions,or internal problems of any kind.Just a failure to thrive.

So,with a straight face and conscience attitude…I’d like to say Thank You in advance and hope your day is brilliant.

I am now and into the near future going to spend all my time over at the vet’s office volunteering my time, and watching over Koa until I can no longer be of service to either.I don’t want him to go alone and have him think that I have abandoned him ,in anyway, shape, or form.

I don’t even know how I’m going to pay for all this,as my funds are just about depleted already(vet’s aren’t cheap),but that’s the least of my worries now.

He is a big part of my ,“fighting to stay alive” and I owe him that much.

“I LOVE YOU”, Koa XXXOOO.

Thanks again, and we now return you to your regularly schduled program.

Sorry to hear it Herb…

All my best to the both of you.

Tom

They are every bit a part of the family. There is nothing quite like that wag of a tail when they see you. Best of luck Herb. I’ll be thinking of both of you.

Best of wishes

to you and Koa

Is that the big furry dog I saw in a picture on here? If so, he is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen.

sorry to hear of your situation. i wish you both the best of luck.

Koa will do best with you by his side.Hope and prayers from me and my family.

                                               Jeff

Again thanks everyone !

Been a rough couple days…got to get some sleep before working tonight.

I’ll know more in the morning.

And no need to post to this off subject…if you want, that’s okay too…I just usually get emails,PMs if I’m not around here for a few days.

Hope you guys get some great waves, looks like PJ got some.

Herb…

That sucks…

Let me know if I can help with the vet bill…

Obviously you and your dog are in my prayer…

Love…

Losing one of your family (pets) is never a good thing. Best wishes for Koa’s remaining days and I hope you find another dog that is just as cool in it’s own way(s).

best wishes herb to you an koa. the picture above is my all-time favorite ever posted here on sways…

Thanks Paul,

I’m going to try and go this one alone…as far as the bills go.

Maybe,Doc Adams will let me work off some of the expenses…up to like $1,200 roughly ,so far…probably another 2 grand after it’s all done and said.(there goes my surfboard money…oh well)

I don’t want to impose as I know times are rough.

Gotta go walk Maddi Dog and then head out to the dog Hosp.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.

We went through a similar thing with our Molly last month. She was diagnosed with liver cancer. If you had seen her you would have thought that she would go any day. Being sensible and reasonable is the way to go. We opted not to operate and even stopped her medication. If you saw her today you wouldn’t think that anything was wrong. It’s as if she were a pup again. They are like our children. Hang in there.

Hang in there Herb old buddy. RB

OKAY here’s goes …to you guys,

Praying does work !

Koa is stable, but still not eating.

His liver panels are better… 2 tests are now normal, the other 2 are still elevated.

So ,he’s still being fed IV(There’s that life saving IV thing… AGAIN !).

And the prognosis is still shakey.

Thanks a millon for all you Prayers…I know they’re helping.

Also Dr. Adams is letting me work off a major portion of the bill, all but like 5 or 6 hundred of it.

So,If I’m not around much,it’s because I’m volunteering over at the clinic or the hospital.

It’s not over by a long shot ,but at least he’s making a turn for the better.

Thanks alot,again !

Herb

Herb…

Dogs are people too! You and your best friend will remain in our prayers…

I once heard someone describe their well loved pet, as a ‘‘fur person.’’ Seemed to sum it up quite well. I understood.

Herb--------How old is your dog? Parvo Viris? I lost six Beautiful Rottweilers to Parvo a few years back. But I also had one survive.

Hi Herb,

Sounds like you have a great vet. Reminds me of my father. Hang in there. Your pups gonna make it. Mike
