Well I’m back in NorCal … for the weekend. Got the new board with … didn’t have time to finish wet sanding and sealing it before I left … so I’m doing it now in my room at Motel 6 … wet sanded it out in the shower, sealing it up right now …
Hope I can find some waves out here that I can handle … was watching cams on Wednesday and I’ll admit … I found it scary … (remember I’ve only been at this 2 years!)
I’ll post pics here when the sealer’s all applied and it looks decent … I’m going to redo the rails later, the tempera paint didn’t turn out like I wanted it to … I’ll mask them off, sand and spray paint them when I get home. Good enough for this ‘questionable’ board …
Anybody wanna go surfing Saturday afternoon? I can’t get my rental 'til 10am … I’m gonna load up and see if I can find somewhere in the afternoon that the winds aren’t on it too bad.
By NorCal I don’t know if you mean Eureka, SF or Santa Cruz area. If you’re in the SF area you should try to find Benny1 or myself and head out. Don’t know if we’ll be around but we can point you in the right direction if not.
Tides are super high, like 6’, the next few early (7am) mornings. You might check the beachbreaks around 11 am as it drops a little - in Marin, SF, and San Mateo Co the beaches are best with around 3’ of tide on almost any swell.
Points are best on low tides - which are 1’ or less around 2-3pm these days - and you’re in luch because the wind looks like almost nothing & nice sunny skies. Air around 50* F, water around 45*.
I may be surfing dawn tomorrow if I can figure out someplace that can handle all the tide…and then probably mid-day on Monday if you’re still around & are near Marin. Send a PM if you want to hook up or need some specific advice or have a cell #…
