Jeez, you’d have to pump it up pretty hard to be able to support the weight of someone on 2 small areas

I have this vision of it getting a flat miles out to see and it slowly folding up around you…

I’d like to hear what Dale has to say about this…

Goos stuff John…

I’ve seen Jim, the inflatable Man, out on his SUP inflatable at the Cliffs in overhead waves. Maybe not a performance board, but it really does work. http://www.uliboards.com/ An interesting travel option.

Jim let me check out his SUP recently and I was amazed how firm the set-up

was. He said there is an internal flexible truss that pulls tight when inflated

and it holds shape. I saw him get a few in our homewaters, actually he’s the

guy doing it the most in our area…

$1350??? I wouldn’t pay that for a realistic Jenna Jamison doll…Defiantly wouldn’t spend that on a blow up board. Well maybe if she was realistic enough but still no board.

The site uses terms like “lightweight” and “ultralight”, but I couldn’t find an actual weight cited for any model. While no doubt a deflated board would be an easier carry in a lot of ways (and certainly simplifies air travel which is the main advantage touted), it would still suck if there wasn’t a significant weight savings over PS/epoxy, especially for the SUP. That’s unlikely, but depending on the skin thickness and the amount of internal structure required, it is possible…

Hi iam2sam -

I couldn’t find anything about the SUP on the Uli site. The original link was to a retailer.

well if it gets broke you could always re-cut it to a shortboard or 4 mats.
