PJ and Mark Wahl made them when they lived in Santa Maria and surfed Jalama every day. PJ lives in or near Pismo now and production shapes C.I. and his own label..
Great
thanx
So i managed to get in touch with PJ Wahl
he saw the pictures and did not recalled shaped it
he thinks it was shaped end of 60s, probably by someone belonging to the surf community of Lompoc/ Jalama in those times
if someone would know any other informations ?
thx
The outline says it is most likely from 70 or 71. While you said it is a single fin, it bears strong resemblance to twins of that period.
Good guess
PJ Wahl thinks it was a twin fin which was converted to a single . that would explain the bilateral little pieces of fiber
on the bottom ( cf photo)
Looks like a fun board for the beach break. I don’t know that I’d want to try crossing the boil at (larger) Tarantulas with it… Enjoy! 8^D
Edit: added larger
Now that you’ve shown a bottom view, it’s obvious that it used to be a twin.
