Information on an old Hobie

I’ve got a hold of an old Hobie and was hoping to get some info regarding the age and asthetic value more so than the monitary. It has some stress cacks on the bottom so i was thinking of sanding it down and puting a layer of 4oz over it and adding a whole new gloss coat. Although I would hate to do so if it is worth anything, seeing as i would hate to devalue the board. I have a[img_assist|nid=1065718|title=old hobie|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=480|height=640][img_assist|nid=1065720|title=old hobie 3|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=667|height=501] hard time placing the age myself. I would say the leash plug should put it post 70’s but it may have been added i suppose. Please exuse me this is the first time posting picture, and i can take more if it would help. I’m not much of a photographer so i have a hard time figuring out how to place boards when trying to take pictures.

Terry has shaped 70,000 plus hasnt he ?

I would guess its on of his earlier boards if its 0222.

Can’t be all that old. It has a signature. I’d say 1980s or so. Photos of the fin and logo might help.

I would repair it to usable condition. Not worth much, otherwise. Certainly not a collectible with high value.

By the way the leash plug is placed, and Terry left Hobie for  while in Mid-eighties and did his own thing, “Just Add Water”, and Stussy, and then to Stewart, I am guessing around 83-4

I concur.    It also has a tail shape like a P.E. Model.    I suspect that may be a 6 inch squaretail.

Thanks guys I’ll go ahead and fixr up then. The only thing that caught me is how the rails dont have anything really going on very neautral big round old style rails. I would have thought by the 80’s they’d be a little more advanced shape. But you guys would know better than me. They were still making an Edwards model in the 80’s  wow.  Thanks again.
