Inverted Radius

Does anyone know if anyone has experimented with the “inverted raduis” type of outline on surfboards ? (like a snowboard outline) http://www.twintip.com/water.html There are a couple of company’s trying it with wakeboards(and kiteboards). Just curios. Thought some of you guys that have “seen it all” might know. Brian http://www.twintip.com/water.html

I saw Terry Fitz on one at Sunset in the early 70’s and he was going really fast on it and making some beautiful turns. I shaped a few and thought it was an interesting concept. There are a lot of diffrent design variables that achieve the same effect that are a little more mainstream. Untill the pros ride 'em you won’t really see 'em, kinda fun to play with, though.

Was the whole board an inverted radius?

No. It was inverted behind the wings. I made a few like that with Bonzer concaves where the narrow part of the concave co-incided with the narrow part of the inverted radius. Faster than hell but that was when outlines were much diffrent. aloha
