Is 2# eps overkill in a compsand board?

Wouter,

Thanks. And yeah I definately plan to vac bag in the future, just don’t know if it’s the best idea for this 2# I have coming. I’ve done some vac bagging before on sailboat related projects: cabin roofs, bulkheads, etc. But this was different as we were mainly vac bagging foam inside plywood skins, to save weight, just as filler and for insulation purposes. We weren’t worried about retaining flex, in fact we wanted these parts stiff. This was just a quick and easy process; epoxy the foam on both sides to the plywood, wrap in fiberglass, coat with epoxy and vacuum. Unfortunately, I worked out of someone else’s shop, so all the tools/equipment belong to him. I think he sold most of it when he stopped building sailboats. I should hit him up, see if he has anything still lying around.

Well, gonna get started in a couple of weeks (moving into a new place). I’ll post pics as I go, and probably ask ALOT more questions.

Thanks,

J.D.
