Is it okay to glue more than one slat at a time (HWS) decking

Just curious, I figured I would save time and glued like 6 slats up at once, I used cross braces to ensure they stayed flat and didnt bow at all…is this an acceptable method when making a HWS? Im in the process of making Rich’s 5’4 minnow template from the T2S site, This thing is coming together fast!!

Yes, you can. Thats the way I did mine. Check out Paul Jenson’s work, incredible!

If you want you can dig around in my HWS build here: www.dwsurf.blogspot.com

Good Luck!

I feel you for the general process, right now I am on constructing the top/bottom decks (before they are glued to the frame)…

I have ripped strips of cedar that are 2 inches wide by 1/4 inch thick by 8ft long… these are the strips I am talking about gluing up together… sorry I dont have a pic at this time

Thats a nice board you  made! I have a router but i dont know how to do the bead and cove stuff yet, I want to learn!

With the HWS boards I have made, I glued up the top / bottom decking first.

Then I glued the frame togeter.

Then glued the rail strips up and then planned it down so I could glue the deck on.

Then glued the deck on and planned / sanded so it filled out the surfboard.
