High school is a complete waist of time anyways. atleast on sways hes getting some info he can turn into skills, and possibly into a career, and Im not just talking surfboards. Everything that NEEDS to be gleened from H.S. can be learned in 1 year or less. Let the kids do something constructive. Hey teacher…leave them kids alone!!! Actually, Ive got nothing against teachers, its the f@#kin beauracrats. Theres a high school here in socal that was redoing the pool. They hired a construction crew to do the work. Imagine if they wouldve let the kids do it, with supervision and guidance by a professional, of course. The kids would learn so much and get such an incredible feeling of satisfaction and self worth. Granted some kids wouldnt be up for it, but many would step up and do a hell of a good job. Cheap labor too!! Oh well, what do I know? I dont have any Phd’s.
he he he… that made me think… Im in an architecture program at my college… they use us as cheap labor. all 5 years of students work on projects in staggering semesters so that the first years do all the planning and initial ideas, the project gets bumped up each class each semester till it arrives at fith years. they finish of the project as their thesis work, then the faculty chose a winner, stamp it with an architect’s approval stamp, then construction begins.
I feel so used…lol… i dont even get paid minimum wage… i pay them to do their work…
last semester we worked on a glass blowing artists studio / warehouse storage space. pics attached of process starting at planning, then building layout, then structural components…

…curve the bottom , make the coping grindable , instal plexiglass ports to enable remote control video footage of grinds …
remove all steps , diving boards , and any other distractions which prevent a great pool skating session happening .
Install lights for night skating sessions …

The original offender should use the defense that he was doing research, and offer to work on proper prioritization of uusing school resources. Should skate with that defense (should have posted this situation here before the parents got called, eh? Can you imagine the excuse bank this crew could come up with?).

…??? Scott, that’s absolutely terrifying…but then maybe that’s what governments do…use first year “interns” to do the initial planning etc. Might explain how some things happen…
