If you can get this at a really good price, go for it. Use it until you feel like you are ready for a normal size board, which would be less than 24” wide. I know a few big boys who ride 9’ long SUPs as their regular board. The nose and tail on their boards are pulled in more. They don’t try to do fancy moves, just cruise along.
