Jim, off the subject also, in your shaping video, what is the size of your shaping room(lenghtxwidth?). Also what is the color of your shaping room walls? Mahalo.

Jim, off the subject also, in your shaping video, what is the size of your > shaping room(lenghtxwidth?). Also what is the color of your shaping room > walls? Mahalo. I have a big room, 9’3" wide by 20’ long, the ceiling are only 8’, I would have liked it to have been 10 foot. My front and back walls are black, were dark purple, Channin’s idea, why do glassers make choices for shapers? I had the walls flat black, but the flat paint collected too much dust and made the walls too light a color. I put a coat of gloss black over that and it was much better. I like my room a dungeon, dark as possible walls and shelves, etc.I want as much contrast as possible between work and walls. My racks are at about 38 “, hip high and my lights are at 53”, just above the deck of the board. I see many shapers with the deck really over shadowed with the lights down low, but I like to see the scratches and chatter in the foam really clearly. I think Clean lines raised his lights after seeing the vid. and was happier with the results.
One more question i forgot to include. Your da kine wall light set-up. Do you a combination of 4ft and 8ft fixtures to make a 12ft lenght or do you use two 8 footers to make a lenght of 16 ft. It’s pretty hard to make out in the video. Also what are the watts for the bulbs (40W?). Mahalo on the previous info!

My side lights are a combo of an 8&4 butted together, same with my overhead lights. I tried to get a stronger bulb wattage, but believe it or not, 60 is the max by LAW, new conservation rules for light mfg. on fluro’s.
Jim when do you think the video will be ready for sale? Thanks, Stephen > Berube If it is the glassing video you’re refering to, only the preliminary footage is being assembled. Please don’t go and get over impatient, the filming part is easy, Damascus Productions spends a good part of the time in the editing and sequencing for a video that is easy to understand and navigate through
