Sebastian Inlet Surfboards 6’ 10" winged swallow tail- This board is insane Jim(WOW)! It is a shame people like me dont get to see photos of your work. Ever think of posting a few here on swaylocks? Thanks Slingie
A lot of people associate Jim with longboards but I gotta tell you he is good at it all.Glassing, art, sanding polishing, tool making you name it.“Daily Joy” was his label for a long time,I just saw one with an orange bottom, yellow deck, double back to back pins.Looks great. R.B.
We just finished using a disposible digital camera and it does great. Now to get another one and load up a disc of photos
Gary Linden is a great shaper.
Any idea who did the resin pinlines on that board? Was it you?
Mark if you are referring to me the answer is maybe.I used to visit Jim at Daily Joy and mess around there and at Natural Art.Jim taught me the "wet and dry tape pull trick for back to back pins.Chances are he did the pins though as mine are a lot better(He He). R.B.
Yes Gary Linden is a great shaper, I guess that’s why he signed his name to all those boards I shaped for him!
Strange that I have never heard of Daily Joy or seen a board with that label. Where exactly was the shop/factory and around what years?
That board was built at my factory on Manatee Lane in Cocoa Beach. I had that building from 1975 until 1980, after that I scrapped the Daily Joy name and went with my name instead. The board in the photo was glued-up, shaped, laminated, sanded, pin-lined, glossed and rubbed out by me.
Gary Linden make good board, very professional shaper. Good
