Joel's board

In the seedling, joel is going over his quiver. And he said he only rides tri fin for comps.

It then shows him riding a green board, thats really flat and has a drawn in nose.

What board is that? Anyone have pics? Dims?

This was from 99 so…?

never saw the seedling…but is it the same green singlefin longboard he rode at puerto escondido?

I dont know?

You have never seen Seedling? Def. a must see.

Hi there,

I think the green board Tudor is riding in “the seedling” (now Soulstice, get off your computer now, go to the closer surfshop and buy this movie…I mean right away!!!), so the green board your talking about is one of his comp board, a rounded pin tail truster way lighter than the logs he usually rides, I don’t have any picture of that board… Sorry

But It definitely isn’t the board he was riding in puerto… this one is a real beauty that he had his shaper Stu Kenson made especially for the tube riding event in puerto escondido. This one was a 9 footer, more of a single fin gun than a longboard, with the most beautiful outline and pin tail I’ve ever seen… It has a six-channelled bottom…Man I think I’m in love with that board, So, Joel, if you’re reading this and you were thinking of getting rid of it, I’ll take it…

If you’re interested I know that I have pictures of this one somewhere in a mag, that I could scan… I’ll just have to go through hundreds of mags, so it might take some time.

that sounds like the board i’m thinkin’ of…

i’d go buy the seedling, but i’d rather save my money to spend on fins!

anyone have a copy they’d be willing to loan out??

If it’s the board that I think it is, I would say its the board he rode when he won the World Title in the Canary Islands when he was still riding for Donald Takayama, which is similar to the Beach Break model.

I watched “longer” last night and spoke to a friend who used to ride with him.

He told me that it is a speed shape like the Takayama DT-3. Or DT-1.

Amazingly versatile boards very fast and they noseride like a dream.

Perfect for broken up surf. ala East Coast.

So the big question is who can shape me one?

I’d say Donald himself… No not me, the other Donald : Mr Takayama

I can not afford a Takayama.

Q: So the big question is who can shape me one?

A: You can!

You have the clearest idea of what you want, so have at it. Dimensions to suit your taste, but the Surftech website lists a 9’2 DT3 with a 17.13" nose, 22.38 mid, 14.25 tail. Post pics as you go, listen to the cheers from the crowd, paddle it out with a smile on your face.

I have no idea where to even start, or for that matter a place to shape it.
