Joining glass

To minimise freight costs I often get Surfblanks to include a “reject” or “second” blank and I glass the deck with glass offcuts, usually joining them along the stringer or on the edge of an inlay. I’ve never had any problems strengthwise but is their a better method? eg. overlapping or banding? Designs and inlays are often used on reject blanks so joining is not noticeable.

Sorry this is not an answer. but i just wounderd what is a reject. is it a blank that was damaged under construction? thanks JOS

Reject and seconds blanks are sructurally ok but have been damaged to some degree during removal from the mould or during handling. Imperfections can generally be removed during shaping.
