jump on the hippie wagon cos it makes me feel better!

Aloha!

I am a keen enviromentalist in Hawaii, and i stumbled accross a company called thomson surfboards.

firstly i am always looking for ways to preserve and help keep things the way they were given to us.

Anyways, long story short, i wanted to put the news out their that they have this new foam they use to make the surfboards which produces less than a comparible 50% less emmsions into the envrmnt when being produced, not only this but they are also made from plant oil extract, a renewable source!

the board i have been riding now for about a month and it is in really good condition! so they seem to be holding up too!

the costs are the same between regular and “biofoam”.

i just think its about time us surfers start acting and not talking and support these efforts being made!! plus the surfboards are the best ive riden in hawaii, and the guys are really down to earth and CARING people. as much of a plug that this sounds like, its genuine and better than nothing! i made the change with no regret!!

There is way more information on the site for the technical stuff- so do what iwill be doing from now on and get your BIOBOARD!! and surf happy ‘:D’ www.thomsonsurfboards.com

This has been around awhile. There are a lot of people trying to do things a little different, you just have to know where to look! www.localmansurf.com. I think a company in south FL, NVS, is doing this too. Plus others like Greenlight surfboard supply that offer these products. Tom Neilson and Brian Tudor in FL have already been shaping boards out of the biofoam. And I think Lawless who posts on this site has had a least two biofoams already. I’ve got a couple, with Probox, I will try to post pics later.

I am aware of NVS an bio products on the mainland but i havent seen it in Hawaii untill i saw www.thomsonsurfboards.com , NVS and www.thomsonsurfboards.com are tied, or something, i am not to sure but i know thomson surfboards had like 4 of there blanks shaped and ready to be glasssed for them?!

i dont know, I am just glad that people are doing stuff to make a difference, thats all!
