Clark Foam 9-4R barely skinned to keep full width and thickness… Don’t even know dimensions as my tape measure didn’t come out!! Just made my rails and glass it baby!!! Buwahahahahahahaha!!! UV resin on this UGLY STICK… So far I got 1 hour 15 minutes on it…Hoping to be done by tomorrow sometime for the Friday Dawn Patrol…
Im soooooooo into that!!! Ive been thinking of just glassing a blown blank and checking it out forever, but alas, beatin to the punch by a fellow lazier than I!!
hhahahahahahahahah
much love Blane, much love.
I need you to show me your pinline skills. Although, they are getting too pretty for your ugly stick line of boards… Maybe go with a “hawaiian trash” motif?
OK, laminating done, on to Hot Coating… 6-bottom, 6-4 top… So far I got 2 hours-45 minutes of work time in this thing… Maybe surf tomorrow? Ahwooooooo!!! Will this board last?? Of course not !!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
Oh man, why didn’t I think of that pinline? I forgot to tape off the bottom lap on a blue tint and have been wondering what I could do to it to make it more fun. I’ll just steal another good idea from one of you guys. Mike
Well, Da Ugly Stick should be ready for Friday no problem… All I gotta do is sand and its ready… The resin for the fin box and plugs are not hard enough to be sanded so I’m gonna stick to the plan… Friday is the maiden voyage… Tomorrow will be a Munoz 11’ or 10-6" day in Town… Funny, I never liked surfing down there but with these boards I look forward to it… Aloha…
As long as it breaks you can do stupid stuff and still have fun…
Done… I waxed it up then threw it in the pool to see how it floats me… I already knew it was pretty thin for knee paddling… Not nearly as good as my others but still can go… It will have to surf unreal or its gonna be a one surf deal then on to one of my friends… Waves are here… This morning was already overhead and building… It’ll be fun!
Whew, busy week!!! Just got back from Hilo… Da Ugly Stick has yet to hit the water. Got to the beach Friday morning and it was CRANKING! Opted to surf the proven Prototype#3 and was one of the best surfs I ever had in Town… Completely stoked… Da Ugly Stick was a question mark as far as floatation goes so I shined it for the sure thing… Glad I did… Started another to be dubbed Prototype#4… This weekend and early next week we will have swells ringing the islands so maybe the Da Ugly Stick will get wet… AND the Prototype#4 Ahwooooooo!!!
The Prototype#3 for Canoe Paddle Surfing. My current favorite…
Born today… The Prototype#4 1lb EPS… 9’-2" 15-3/4" tail, 25-1/4"wide, 3-3/4"thick, 20-3/4" nose…
This board has a narrower tail, more continuous rocker, slightly thicker middle and a single to double concave bottom…
Keep the stoke firing guys!! BTW, Thanks for all the great info on EPS and epoxy!!! Aloha
