Just more SUP stuff ....

Things have been very fun on the SUP front… Waves have been decent enough to progress with small to medium wave board developments… Talked to Darrick Doerner today and he absolutely loves his first gun and after he got a few big bombs at some out of the way places he refuses to give it up! I want to shape him another but he’s in love with the first one… Oh well…

Kealii MAMALA MAMALA on my old 9’-4" fat board at Sunset… This guy is picking it up very fast! photo by Vince Cavataio

Kealii will absolutely rip when he gets on this new one shown here… After seeing what he charges I made him something special.

He hasn’t even seen it yet… At this very moment he’s at the hospital watching his baby pop out! Congrats!!!

Todd Bradley with his newest board. Pic was taken a few hours ago… This 10 footer is custom for him…

Thinner, narrower than most I’ll make but Todd has incredible balance and paddle strengths…

Waimea Bay lifeguard Vitor Marcal with my old 9-2. He’s heavier than me but he surfed it well…

We’re making him a really cool board soon…

From Friday morning at Haleiwa. I really like this 9-6 a lot. I’ve been experimenting with all kinds of fin set ups… The last few days the set ups haven’t been working to well so I’m going back to the ones in this pic which are the Future VFYU’s and 8" Cutaway…

I’ll pop in later with more pics… Aloha

great pics, as usual, blane. thanks.

got the new surfers journal 2 days ago… good article written by Todd on beach boy surfing… good read.

God, what a shot at Sunset! Although it’s not my thing, this is one of the best and most interesting deals on here. Thanks again, again.

Howzit Carve,

What is your opinion on Machado’s Fish? Have you done anything similar? We are riding 11’-6" to 12’-3" in our smaller surf. I have been thinking about trying a fish at about 10’-6".

Take care,

Dave_D

I haven’t ridden one but from the way it looks, it seems like it would be really fun in small, fat waves. It also seems like it would be fun in Town during the summer… Rob surfed with Todd yesterday but he doesn’t have his Fish here yet…

Parmenter shaped a few fish type boards and even a 10-6" Sting for SUP. Right now we are focused on building boards that allow us to surf the waves around here better so the big Fish type designs are on hold till summer unless I get a specific order for one… We’re doing a lot of pintails lately…

A few more pics from last week…
