Just ordered a Pete c Bosch any tips?

Thanks heaps Barry.

the board is six feet.

Thanks Barry

Herb, my shaping space is smaller. About 6 feet across, barely 10’ long, and just high enough so I don’t hit my head. I do get caught in the vac hose once in a while, but it helps keep the area cleaner.

I have to take the blanks outside to look at the outline, if I want to do that before I cut them. Most of the time, I don’t bother, but that’s how I ended up making a backwards outline.

Hope you’re doing well.

Just scored a PeteC Bosch with a flex hose for a very good price. I held off for 2 months before deciding I couldn’t let that deal go.

I have 5 blanks sitting around that I don’t need to shape, but…

wow this planner cuts so much easier than anything i’ve run before! Is Pete C still around on this forum? any matinince other than blades he recomends?

Pete is still here. You can PM him. He just responded to my PM today.

I’m still around, just been very busy with a zillion Skil’s to restore the past few months.

There’s really no maintenance on the Bosch, just blow it out each use and check the blades often. Very indestructible.  The brushes check every 25 shapes or so.  Blades chip easily (solid carbide) but are reversible and you never have to adjust them.  New ones are less than $20, so keep a spare set.    If you have any problems with it please send me a PM.   You can download the 1594K manual from the Bosch site.

The feel and sound of the Bosch motor is like a BMW, when you pull that trigger it lets you know German engineering is in the house.  I’ve been playing with adapting it into a Skil housing, but not much R&D time lately.
