Just put on my doorstep from Australia

Just plopped on my doorstep from Oz.

They look like they could have flown over on their own.

Have you ever tried one in a performance long board ? Think it would help it from sliding out when nose riding ?

As long as you stay on the tail they will still perform with the keel.  They help when noseriding because of the angle the wings are put when you step forward of center. Like a sea anchor.

Sea anchor is true... I really liked the perfromance, although a bit big for me... but its definitely a sea anchor if there is any seaweed around, and catches leashes too.

I never got my head around those ugly things.

wouldn’t the boards rocker have to match the angle of the wing for it to work correctly?

…Thats a lot of room for error???

on flat boards maybe… Mals, McCoy’s etc

Just another Aussie invention…We came up with em all! ha ha [;-o]

As long as you stand on the tail with rockered boards it’s not that noticeable. Move just a bit forward and it’s an anchor. Yes…they mostly work for flatter tail rocker boards. They work unreal on single fin longboards though and work great for noseriding.  I’ve had better luck all around with the Spitfire, but I still love the keels sometimes.  Yes…Aussies have invented their share.  I think they invented the surf clothing industry also. Not sure I can pat them on the back for that one though. : )

This past summer I put a wing keel in my 8’6" modern longboard and was pleasantly surprised at its performance. While it did not increase performance by leaps and bounds, the board was easy to turn, developed speed thru turns and never felt like it would slide out when noseriding, which I really like, because I’m not really into helicopter 360s. I have it pushed all the way up in the box which is set approx. 5" from the square tail block. I was really skeptical up till the first wave on it and never wanted to change fins since.
